Beard & Mustache Transplant - Complete Masculinity
Beard transplantation uses FUE technique to extract individual hair follicles from your scalp (usually the back of the head) and implant them into facial areas to create a full, thick beard, mustache, goatee, or sideburns. The transplanted hairs grow permanently and can be groomed, trimmed, and styled like natural facial hair.
Unlike scalp hair, beard transplants require precise angle control (20-40 degrees) and artistic placement to match natural facial hair growth patterns.
Why Men Choose Beard Transplant
- Patchy Beard: Genetics cause uneven growth with gaps and thin areas
- Scarring: Burns, accidents, or surgery damaged hair follicles permanently
- Create Full Beard from Scratch: Some men cannot grow facial hair at all
- Masculine Appearance: Cultural/professional reasons for fuller facial hair
- Transgender FTM: Create masculine facial features

The Procedure
Step 1: Hairline & Pattern Design
We design the beard shape based on your facial structure, age, and desired style. Natural beards have irregular borders - we avoid overly perfect lines. You approve design before starting.
Step 2: Donor Hair Extraction
Hair is extracted from the back/sides of your scalp using FUE technique. We specifically select single-hair follicles that best match facial hair texture (slightly finer than scalp hair at the nape).
Some surgeons also harvest from under the chin if you have existing beard hair - perfect match!
Step 3: Recipient Site Creation & Implantation
This is where artistry is critical. Each follicle is implanted at the correct angle and direction to mimic natural beard growth:
- Mustache: 10-20 degrees downward
- Chin/Goatee: 30-45 degrees downward
- Cheeks: 20-30 degrees angled toward ears
- Jawline: 40-50 degrees following jaw contour
Recovery & Growth Timeline
Redness and small scabs in transplant area. Mild swelling possible. Donor area at back of head also scabbed. Sleep on back to avoid rubbing face on pillow.
Scabs fall off naturally during washing. First shave allowed after day 10 - use electric trimmer only, no blade shaving for 1 month.
Shock Loss Phase: Transplanted hairs shed - this is NORMAL and expected. Follicle roots remain alive and resting under skin.
New beard growth begins - thin and soft at first. Gradually becomes thicker and darker each month.
Final Result: Full density achieved. Beard can be styled, trimmed, dyed like natural hair. Some patients need monthly trimming as transplanted scalp hair grows faster than original beard hair.
Important: Hair Texture Differences
Scalp hair transplanted to face may have slightly different characteristics:
- Grows Faster: May need trimming every 2-3 weeks vs natural beard's 4 weeks
- Slightly Softer: Scalp hair is finer than thick beard hair (but still looks masculine)
- Same Color: Matches your natural hair color and will gray accordingly
- Permanent: Will never fall out like natural beard hair in old age
